Use this page to put a new product on your shop. Fill in the name, photos, description, category, stock and publish it.
Where to find it
Sidebar → Catalog → Products → + New Product
Step by step
- Open Catalog → Products and click + New Product.
- Type the Product Name. The Slug (web address) is required; keep it short, for example
cotton-panjabi. - Drag your main photo into Featured Image and extra photos into Gallery Images.
- Write a Short Description (required) and a full Description in the editor.
- Add Product Tags and Specifications (for example Material: Cotton). Click + Add row for more rows.
- Fill in the SEO title and meta keywords so Google can understand the product.
- On the right, choose a Category (required), Sub Category and Brand. Use the + button to create one if it does not exist.
- Under Inventory, enter Total Stock and Tax (%) (both required), and SKU if you use one. Add a Video Link if you have one.
- Under Publishing, change Status from Draft to published when you are ready.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the form (scroll down if you cannot see it).
What each field or button means
| Field / button | What it means |
|---|---|
| Product Name * | The name customers see. |
| Slug * | The end of the product web address. Use English letters and hyphens. |
| Short Description * | One or two lines shown near the price. |
| Total Stock * | How many pieces you have. Stops overselling. |
| Tax (%) * | Enter 0 if you do not charge tax. |
| SKU | Your own product code. Leave blank to create automatically. |
| Publishing status | Draft = hidden. Change it to publish the product. |
Tips
- Use clear, bright photos on a plain background.
- Create categories before adding products so you can pick them here.
- For size and colour options, set up Attributes first.
